President's Circle Looks To Expand Its Radius

Wednesday, November 5, marked the first meeting of the President's Circle (PC) for this academic year. David Himber, the University Dean of Students at Yeshiva University, was in attendance alongside student leaders of various campus organizations. The Stern College for Women (SCW) students present at the meeting were Sivan Kerem, president of SCW Student Council; Olivia Wiznitzer, editor-in-chief of The Observer; Adira Lautman, president of Torah Activities Council and Arianne Thaler, president of Sy Syms School of Business (SSSB) student council on the Beren Campus.

Soccer Shut-Out Marks First Win in Team's History

The Yeshiva University women's soccer team set a new record on November 12 with their 9-0 shutout over Polytechnic Institute of New York University, the first win in two seasons for the team, as well as the first win in the history of the soccer team at Stern College for Women (SCW).

Biannual Run of TLN Begins at Beren

The Torah Leadership Network (TLN) began its semiannual learning sessions on November 6, hosting a few hundred high school girls from the metropolitan New York area for a shiur on the Beren Campus. TLN is an evening of Torah learning that is facilitated by the Center for the Jewish Future (CJF) and is coordinated this year by Ariella Azaraf, a senior at Stern College for Women (SCW).

English Department Collaborates with B.L.U.E. Program

On Wednesday, October 29, students and faculty of Stern College for Women (SCW) convened for a night of close poetry reading, paying special homage to Frank O'Hara and his compatriots of the New York School of poetry. In the 1950s and '60s, the New York School of poetry flourished as an avant-garde movement of abstract expressionism and artistic experimentation.

GoCrossCampus Game Comes to YU

On November 12, registration opened for the Internet game GoCrossCampus (available at GoCrossCampus.com) on the Wilf and Beren campuses. The multi-team game is sponsored by the Office of Communications and Public Affairs (OCPA) at Yeshiva University (YU). Registration for the game remained open for three days afterwards, and the game began on the 17th of November.
